CMA CGM will add this month a new stop in Fortaleza to its Amazon – Cartagena (Colombia) ‘Manaus Shuttle’. Initially monthly, the new call will become weekly from July.
The expanded service will then call at Cartagena (Colombia), Kingston, Manzanillo (Panama), Manaus, Vila do Conde, Fortaleza, Cartagena.
Adding Fortaleza will require the deployment of a fifth vessel, the 2,260 teu CMA CGM FORT ST GEORGES, which will be deployed alongside the current four 3,000 – 3,500 teu ships.
The 3,091 teu LUTETIA will make a first call in Fortaleza on June 16.
It should be noted that at this stage it is not clear if Maersk Group’s Sealand Americas, which sits in the service, will also participate in the new call for Fortaleza.
