U.S. Navy Sailor Accused Of Selling Drug To Shipmates That Killed 1 & Overdosed Another
Federal prosecutors have charged a U.S. Navy sailor, Bailey Szramowski, with distributing fentanyl-laced drugs, which led to the death of a shipmate and caused another sailor to overdose.
The charges, filed in Southern California on Tuesday, accuse Szramowski of supplying fake Percocet pills laced with fentanyl to sailors aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln.
The sailor who died from the fentanyl overdose, identified only as A.N. in charging documents, passed away on January 3, 2023, while on leave in San Leandro, California.
Police found signs of drug use at the scene, and an autopsy confirmed that A.N. died from fentanyl intoxication.
