Singapore’s ST Engineering has secured a shipbuilding contract for the design and construction of a walk-to-work (W2W) vessel for an undisclosed “leading oil and gas company”, marking its expansion into the market for specialised vessels supporting offshore operations.

The newbuild is expected to be completed by the first half of 2027, the company said without disclosing financial terms surrounding the deal.

The vessel will be 97 m in length and able to accommodate 106 persons. It will feature an advanced motion-compensated gangway and a 10-ton crane with active heave compensation.
