US-based Seaboard Marine reported an operating income of $113 million in the first quarter, increases the indicator more than five times from a year earlier. Revenue reached USD 466M versus USD 300M in 2021, reports Alphaliner.
The company is a division of the diversified Kansas-based Seaboard Corp, which has interests in a wide range of activities, including marketing, milling, and food production.
Although revenue from the maritime sector remains lower than that of several of its other divisions, maritime activities provided the group with its biggest profits in the quarter.
Seaboard operates a fleet of around 25 ships between North America, the Caribbean, and Central and South America.
