Oceanus Line starts USA Gulf – México y Colombia

Oceanus Line, a new liner shipping operator based in Coral Gables, Florida, USA, will launch bi-weekly container service between US Gulf ports, Mexico and Colombia in early February.

The new line, called Florida Gulf Express (‘FGX’), will call at Port Manatee (Florida), Freeport (Texas), Veracruz, Cartagena (Colombia), Port Manatee. Oceanus is announcing a ship in the service called COTOPAXI which Alphaliner believes should be the 1,674 teu X-PRESS COTOPAXI. The FGX will depart Port Manatee on February 3.

Oceanus Line will be the second shipping line to offer a connection between Port Manatee and Mexico.

Another US-based operator, World Direct Shipping (WDS) already connects the US port with Mexico, although it serves different ports in the Central American country, such as Coatzacoalcos, Tampico and Tuxpan, among others.
