Alphaliner: Shipping lines have started to withdraw Asia – Europe capacity

According to the last chart published by Alphaliner, shipping lines have started to withdraw Asia – Europe capacity (- 7.2% since August) with MSC and Maersk taking the lead.

  • CULines admits that small ships are no longer competitive on the trade
  • Shanghai – North Europe spot ocean freight rates down to USD 2,170/feu
  • CULines’ exit from the Asia – North Europe route will not have any impact on the market
