Honda Expands Ohio Manufacturing With $1 Billion Investment
Honda is making a big bet on the future of electric vehicles (EVs) with a massive investment in Ohio. The automaker is investing over $1 billion in upgrading its factories and creating a flexible production system to build gas-powered, hybrid, and fully electric vehicles.
The upgrades include six high-pressure die-casting machines, known as “giga presses.” Tesla made these machines famous. They streamline the manufacturing process by reducing the number of parts needed, which is expected to help cut costs and speed up production. Honda’s Marysville Auto Plant, along with its East Liberty and Anna facilities, is at the center of this transformation.
