Cargo Ship Carrying 45,000 Tons of Salt Gets Stuck in Delaware River
A 623-foot cargo ship, the Algoma Verity, got stuck in the Delaware River near Philadelphia on Wednesday night. The ship, sailing under the Bahamas flag, ran aground around 6:30 p.m., about a mile north of the Benjamin Franklin Bridge, while hauling 45,000 tons of solar salt.
