Maersk and CMA CGM change the call to Río Grande, The ‘Samba’ service of northern Europe and the east coast of South America, operated by Maersk, will begin to make direct calls in Río Grande. At the same time, the Brazilian port is removed from the rotation of the Med – ECSA ‘Bossa Nova / Sirius’ circuit, which is operated jointly with CMA CGM.

The ‘Samba’ service is operated by 9 Maersk ships of 10,500 teu in which CMA CGM is co-loading under its ‘Safran’ brand. As of the February 23 departure of the 10,589 teu CAP SAN MARCO from London-Gateway, the revised rotation includes London-Gateway, Rotterdam, Hamburg, Antwerp, Tanger Med, Santos, Paranagua, Buenos Aires, Montevideo, Rio Grande, Paranagua, Santos, Tanger Med, London.

The direct connection North of Europe – Rio Grande replaces the old transshipment operation in Tanger Med of the Med – ECSA ‘Bossa Nova/Sirius’ service, which as of March will stop serving Rio Grande directly.

The ‘Bossa Nova / Sirius’ will continue touring in six weeks with 6 ships of 8,850 – 10,000 teu from Maersk (four ships) and CMA CGM (two). The removal of Rio Grande will improve schedule reliability.
The revised rotation includes calls in Algeciras (APMT + TTI), Tanger Med (Eurogate and APMT), Salvador, Santos, Itapoa, Paranagua, Santos, Sepetiba, Tanger Med, Algeciras.
