Rhenus Group Enhances Leadership Team to Propel Transformation and Growth Initiatives

Starting April 1,2025,the Rhenus Group is shaking things up by promoting three seasoned professionals from within to its Management Board. Dr.Joana Bätz will oversee Human Resources, Sustainability, and Compliance; Jan Harnisch will take charge of Air & Ocean; and Dr. Marcus Ewig will manage Automotive along with Procurement, Health & Safety, and Quality Management.

This move to expand the Management Board signals RhenusS ambition to solidify its position as a top-tier global logistics player. By elevating these critical roles to the forefront of decision-making,Rhenus is doubling down on its commitment to growth in an ever-evolving market.

The New Faces on the Board

The appointment of Dr. Joana Bätz highlights how much value Rhenus places on its workforce—the heart of its success story! As she takes charge of HR functions alongside Compliance and Sustainability efforts, her role is pivotal in steering long-term strategies for the group. With nearly twenty years under her belt in logistics (seven spent at Rhenus), she quickly climbed through ranks before becoming Group CHRO in 2022 where she revamped HR processes across all divisions while enhancing company culture through innovative tech solutions.

The Air & Ocean division now boasts Jan Harnisch as a board member after his impressive tenure since 2012 where he held various leadership positions including Global COO since 2020 before stepping into his current role as Global CEO last year! His contributions have been instrumental in expanding operations into new international territories while pushing forward digital transformation initiatives aimed at improving customer-centric services.

Paving his way onto the board is Dr. Marcus Ewig who previously served as CEO for Rhenus Automotive since 2017—his track record includes spearheading international expansions into markets like China and establishing joint ventures focused on battery lifecycle management! With extensive experience gained from previous roles at Porsche combined with his new responsibilities overseeing Procurement along with Health & Safety measures ensures he brings valuable insights across multiple sectors!
