Radiant Expands Global Freight Services with Transcon Acquisition

Washington-based Radiant Logistics has acquired Transcon Shipping Co., Inc., a California-based freight forwarder specializing in ocean freight and air and other transportation services. Transcon operates from key U.S. gateway locations in Los Angeles, New York, and Chicago.

Radiant structured the deal similarly to its previous acquisitions, with part of the purchase price tied to Transcon’s future performance. Terms were not disclosed.

Founded in 1997, Transcon built a strong ocean import business in the transpacific trade lane, including services such as buyer consolidation, less-than-container-load (LCL), full container load (FCL), and special project cargo. The company serves global customers across industries, including furniture, recreational automotive, food, and consumer goods.

According to financial information provided by Transcon, the company generated approximately $75 million in revenue and $4 million in normalized EBITDA in 2024. As part of the deal, Transcon will transition to the Radiant brand over the course of 2025 and integrate with Radiant’s existing operations in Los Angeles, New York, and Chicago.

Terry Lynch, who led Transcon, will remain with Radiant as Vice President of Global Network Development, reporting to Randy Briggs, Radiant’s Senior Vice President of International Services.

“Through years of dedicated service, our customers have always remained our top priority,” Lynch said. “We were looking for a long-term partner with that same passion for service and a shared vision to grow our business. We found that partner in Radiant.”

The acquisition highlights Radiant’s ongoing expansion strategy, focusing on key freight markets and complementary service offerings as global supply chains continue to evolve.

“We have been looking for the right next transaction to complement the Radiant network and we found it in Transcon,” added Bohn Crain, Radiant Founder and CEO. “In addition to strengthening our international capabilities in Los Angeles, New York, and Chicago, we also see the potential for a fly-wheel effect by introducing Transcon’s customers to our broader suite of services, including inland transportation and our global trade management platform, Navegate.”
