Only 29% of Supply Chains Ready for the Future, Gartner Says

According to a new Gartner survey, only 29% of supply chain organizations have built the key strengths needed to handle future challenges. The research found that companies that take a long-term, strategic approach are better positioned to succeed, while those focusing on short-term fixes struggle to keep up.

Gartner surveyed 579 supply chain professionals across industries from July to October 2024. The study identified five critical traits that help supply chains stay competitive: agility, resilience, regionalization, integrated ecosystems, and enterprise-wide strategy. Companies with at least three of these were considered leaders.
