MSC has launched a new dedicated service connecting Greece with Syria marketed as ‘Syria Shuttle’.
The weekly loop is operated by the 1,055 teu MED DENIZLI which
performed the first sailing from Piraeus to Latakia on 13 February. The new ‘Syria Shuttle’ calls at Piraeus, Alexandria, Latakia, Tartous, Mersin, Piraeus.
MSC’s ‘Syria Shuttle’ was decoupled from the carrier’s Turkey & Greece to E-Med service which was closed last month with the arrival of the MED DENIZLI into Piraeus on 19 January.
The Turkey & Greece to E-Med shuttle used to call at Tekirdag, Thes- saloniki, Damietta, Alexandria, Mersin, Beirut, Latakia, Izmir, Piraeus, Tekirdag using three 1,055 teu ships.
The other segment of the terminated Turkey & Greece to E-Med ser- vice, covering Greece and Turkey, is served by MSC’s bi- weekly Greece – Turkey ‘Odyssey’ link which is operated by the 1,055 teu MED CORLU, calling at Thessaloniki, Tekirdag, Alexandria, Gioia Tauro, Thessaloniki.
