McDonald’s Holdings Company Japan said Tuesday it would suspend sales of medium- and large-sized French fries for a week from Friday due to bottlenecks in the port supply chain.
The company is experiencing delays in potato shipments due to supply chain problems caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as shipment disruptions in Canada. Potatoes used for French fries are imported from North America, it said.
The popular fast-food company said fries in small sizes will remain on sale.
The company did not quantify the financial impact of the temporary suspension.
