Nortrans

Based in Singapore, Nortrans Offshore has landed a meaningful contract with the renowned Italian firm saipem for work on the Jansz-Io Offshore compression project located in Western Australia.

As part of this venture, Nortrans will utilize the 200-person accommodation vessel known as the Belait CSS 1, which they have secured through a long-term charter agreement.

This marks Nortrans’ inaugural project involving this flotel, currently undergoing dry-docking and enhancements at Seatrium’s Admiralty yard. these upgrades are crucial to ensure that the vessel meets top-tier industry standards and specific project requirements.

The collaboration between Nortrans and their flotel is set to provide essential lodging support for critical personnel transfers during key operational phases of the project.

In 2021, Saipem had already secured a transportation and installation contract from Chevron Australia for the Jansz-Lo initiative. This endeavor is part of a larger Gorgon project that encompasses multiple gas-producing fields. At that time, it was anticipated that Saipem would kick off offshore operations in 2024 using their vessel named the constellation.
