Gartner has identified the top supply chain technology trends for 2025, focusing on connectivity and intelligence to help businesses stay competitive. These trends aim to improve logistics and warehousing efficiency, tracking, and automation.
“This year’s trends highlight the transformative potential of connectivity and intelligence in supply chains,” said Christian Titze, VP Analyst and Chief of Research in Gartner’s Supply Chain practice. “By evaluating and integrating advanced technologies like agentic AI and intelligent simulation, organizations can achieve specific goals, foster innovation, and achieve long-term competitive advantage.”

Agentic AI – AI-powered virtual agents that autonomously make decisions, optimizing inventory management and operations. Polyfunctional Robots – Robots that can handle multiple tasks, improving warehouse flexibility. Ambient Invisible Intelligence – Smart sensors and ultra-low-cost tags providing real-time tracking and monitoring. Augmented Connected Workforce (ACWF) – Digital tools that improve decision accuracy and speed up employee training. Multimodal UI – Voice-activated and gesture-based systems that enhance user interaction with warehouse technology. Autonomous Data Collection – Drones and mobile robots automatically capture inventory and operational data. Decision Intelligence (DI) – AI-driven decision-making tools that analyze data and improve operational choices.
