DSV makes an offer to acquire PANALPINA
The danish giant is looking to expand its reach
The DSV of Denmark makes an offer of USD 4.1 billion to acquire PANALPINA. The offer is intended for the acquisition of your operations and shares of the cargo agent based in Switzerland. However, this happens months after not being able to buy CEVA LOGISTICS. The non-binding proposal made by DSV of 170 Swiss francs per share was evaluated in the range, but it is possible that a counter offer will be made in the near future. Certainly, DSV is the fifth largest cargo agent in the world behind DHL, an acquisition of PANALPINA would make it the third largest tied to the DB SCHENKER in Germany.
Above all, the strong presence of PANALPINA in air and sea transport attracted the intention.
Consolidation among freight forwarders imminent?
