Brazil-based cabotage carriers Log-In Logistica (part of MSC) and Alanca (a Maersk company) have announced the launch of a new express service linking Manaus in northern Brazil with Santos, starting at the end of May. Both ports will be directly connected with a transit time of nine days, with no stops en route.
Log-In will brand the new service as ‘Amazonas Express’, while Alianca will call it ‘ALCT3’, a name the carrier is currently using for a weekly transport service that runs between Pecem and the Amazon region.
The new service will call at Santos, Navegantes, Salvador, Suape, Pecem, Manaus, Santos. Initially, the circuit will offer bi-weekly departures before starting weekly in September. Details of the deployed fleet have yet to be revealed.
Log-In Logistica already connects Manaus to Santos with its ‘Amazonas’ service, operated in conjunction with Mercosul Line (CMA CGM), and is also advertising slots on Alianca’s ‘ALCT1’ service.
