Brazil exported 3.4 million 60kg bags of green coffee in November, an increase of 19% over the same month last year amid better shipping conditions, said the exporters association Cecafe in a report on Monday.
Exports of Arabica coffee, the milder type favored by coffee chains like Starbucks and Pandora, rose 25% in November to 3.39 million bags, while shipments of Robusta coffee, which is mainly used to make instant coffee, fell 55% to just 98,995 bags. , said Cecafe (see table).
The group said export earnings from coffee, including processed products such as instant coffee, reached $885 million in November, the highest amount ever recorded for that month.
