French shipping company CMA CGM and compatriot Marfret will extend their weekly MedCaribe/Medcar service, jointly managed by the Mediterranean, Caribbean, NCSA and US Gulf, to the west coast of South America, with new calls in Colombia, Peru and Ecuador. according to an announcement made by CMA CGM. This service extension is aimed, in part, at refrigerated cargo from Paita and Guayaquil.
The expanded ‘MedCaribe/MedCar’ service will call at Algeciras, Marsaxlokk, Livorno, Genoa, Marseille, Barcelona, Valencia, Pointe a Pitre, Fort de France, Caucedo, Cartagena (Colombia), Kingston, Buenaventura, Paita, Posorja, Guayaquil, Moin, Cartagena, Algeciras.
Faced with the current rotation, the service will stop making stops in Manzanillo (Panama) and Veracruz, which will be served from the Mediterranean by transshipment.
The extended ‘MedCaribe/MedCar’ service will continue to operate in 56 days using a fleet of nine ships, including seven 6,800 teu ships.
