MOL receives a new LNG vessel
MOL receives a new LNG vessel: Mitsui O.S.K. of Lines said on Friday that its new gas (LNG) ship Marvel Eagle has been received.
Before the delivery, on September 5, an appointment ceremony was held for the 155,000 mbm MOSS LNG carrier at the Sakaide shipyard of Kawasaki Heavy Industries, MOL said in its statement.
The ship is the first of the three new LNG carriers, for which MOL and Mitsui & Co. signed charter agreements in September 2014 and January 2015.
The 299.9m long vessel will transport LNG from the Cameron LNG project supported by Mitsui in the state of Louisiana, USA. UU
The Marvel Eagle is also the first vessel equipped with the vessel’s high-performance operating data collection device, which serves as the foundation of the FOCUS project that MOL recently announced and began to put into action, according to the statement.
Detailed trip and engine data on actual trips will be collected from the ship during the operation and stored on a cloud-based data platform to develop applications.
