Sociedad Portuaria de Buenaventura: The investment will go towards the construction of a new warehouse and the expansion of a container yard.

According to Victor Julio Gonzales, CEO of SPB, the activation of the new warehouse and the yard will bring greater benefits at the level of competitiveness, as it will achieve the increase of the installed capacity for the storage of containers and more logistical facilities for the export of sugar .

In addition, the new yard in the back of the quay will improve the productivity of the terminal, since the expansion of the area will reduce the time of container transfer.

With these works, the SPB terminal is consolidated as the port with the largest area built in the Bay of Buenaventura Colombia for the operation of containers, and aims to generate competitive conditions to respond to the challenges of the port business and other global standards.

The new yard will be for storage of containers and due to its proximity to the quay, it will be possible to develop all kinds of essential activities of loading and unloading container ships with a storage capacity of 2124 tons.

With a capacity of 24,220 tons in the new warehouse, the logistic operation of the sugar export, authorities inspection, filling of the container and loading for transfer to the storage site will be carried out.
