US-based King Ocean Services has revamped its weekly Florida-West Indies ‘Eastern Caribbean’ service, with circuit decoupling involving the launch of a dedicated Florida-Dominican Republic link service, while calls in Colombia have been cancelled.

The ‘Eastern Caribbean’ service henceforth calls at Port Everglades, Philipsburg, Roseau, Castries, Campden Park, Bridgetown, Saint George’s, Port of Spain, Philipsburg, Port Everglades. Compared to its previous configuration, the loop now turns in two weeks instead of four, using two vessels of around 1,000 teu.

Previous calls in the Colombian ports of Cartagena and Barranquilla continue to be covered from Port Everglades with King Ocean’s Florida-Netherlands Antilles-Colombia service and with the Florida-Venezuela & Colombia service respectively.

Meanwhile, a dedicated weekly shuttle service was launched between the ports of Port Everglades and Rio Haina, a stretch that was previously part of the ‘Eastern Caribbean’ service. This circuit is operated with the MICHELANGELO TRADER of 1,083 teu.
